About Dambulla

The Dambulla Cave Temple is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the largest, best-preserved cave temple complex in Sri Lanka. Five caves under a great rock overhang hold more than 150 statues of the Buddha and colourful murals covering the ceilings and walls.

It is only a short drive from Sigiriya, so the two are often visited together.
