About Udawalawe National Park
Udawalawe National Park surrounds a large reservoir and is one of the best places in Sri Lanka to see wild elephants in open country. Herds are often seen close to the jeep tracks, along with water buffalo, deer, crocodiles and many birds.
The nearby Elephant Transit Home cares for orphaned calves before they are released back into the wild.
